Image of the Day 9-11-09 Remembering The World Trade Center
I grew up in New Jersey. In the town where I grew up we had a beach. Any day of the week all you had to do was walk up onto the dunes of the beach and you could see the New York City skyline, and the Statue of Liberty. It was actually pretty cool to be able to see it every day if you wanted to.
It was amazing on the Fourth of July. We’d go to the beach to watch our own town’s fireworks, but we’d also get to watch shows from all over the coast of New Jersey. As well as the New York City show, not to mention all the shows out along Long Island.
A very majestic sight with or without fireworks.
I also worked in northern Jersey quite a bit. In some of the places we would basically be in the shadow of The World Trade Center. Something we usually took for granted unfortunately. It is something I definitely missed once I moved away from the area.
Today of course marks the 8th anniversary of the tragic day when the towers came crashing down. On this occasion I would like to remember The World Trade Center with some pictures.
