Russia, Novosibirsk. Taking photos, after the phenomenon (eclipse). Just me, wearing my lucky T-shirt. My son Panagiotis is on it! I do hope for us to be together in a future eclipse!
This week I would like to introduce you all to Chris Kotsiopoulos. He is a photographer in Greece. He is surrounded by a ton of beauty and ancient history and does well to showcase them in many of his pictures. He also has a love for all things related to the sky, which he also incorporates very well into his images.
Chris has an amazing array of images that range from just straight photography, to layering multiple pictures taken in a brief timeframe (image stacking), and something that I have been becoming more and more interested in, Astrophotography.
His image site, Greek Sky is explained by him as follows, “This is a night photography site, dedicated to the magic and beauty of the overhead sky.” There you will not only find his many pictures, but also photography tips and tutorials.
Chris’s images have appeared on sites like; Earth Science Picture of the Day, Lunar Picture of the Day, Astronomy Picture of the Day, The World At Night, and even National Geographic. Please note, those are not direct links to Chris’s images, but just to the home pages of those sites. His images have won 1st Place in the International Earth and Sky Photo Contest, the Earth Science Picture of the Year in 2009, and 2nd place in 2010.
You can find Chris’s site Greek Sky here. While there you can order prints of some of his images if you’d like.
I will be sharing some of Chris’s photos for the rest of the week, and possibly all of next week, too.
