Image of the Day 9-11-09 Remembering The World Trade Center
I grew up in New Jersey. In the town where I grew up we had a beach. Any day of the week all you had to do was walk up onto the dunes of the beach and you could see the New York City skyline, and the Statue of Liberty. It was actually pretty cool to be able to see it every day if you wanted to. It was amazing on the Fourth of July. We'd go to the beach to watch our own town's fireworks, but we'd also get to watch shows from all over the coast of New Jersey. ...
Image of the Day – May 5, 2010 – Gulf Oil Leak
Now, please don't misunderstand me. I realize that this oil leak, and any oil leak is devastating to the environment, the animals, and the land/water around it. I hate that X gallons of oil are pouring into the Gulf of Mexico. It does however create some incredible designs/images though. Here are two of them for today's Images of the Day. [caption id="attachment_57" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Gulf Oil Leak image - taken by the Associated Press"][/caption] [caption id="attachment_59" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Gulf Oil Leak image 2 - taken by the Associated Press"][/caption]

Image of the Day 9-10-09 Best Space Picture Ever
I have been waiting and waiting to get this site started! I will post a new Image of the Day here each and every day for your viewing pleasure. I do hope you enjoy. When I saw this image I knew this has to be the first one I used. It is an image sent back from the Hubble Telescope. The image is from a region in Omega Centauri. Omega Centauri is a cluster of nearly 10 million stars, most of which are between 10 and 12 billion years old. It is located about 16,000 light-years from earth. I am pretty sure this ...
Image of the Day – May 6, 2010 – Lost in Translation
When some things are lost in translation it can be REALLY bad! Someone needs "Port-a-Potty" explained to them a little bit better. I wonder where things go when they are flushed.

Image of the Day – May 9, 2010 – Bang-Zoom
Well, I know it is Mother's Day, but today's image has nothing to do with that. On this day in 1971 one of my favorite shows of all-time aired its final episode. Odd some times how TV works. I wasn't born until October of that year, yet one of my favorite shows ended months before then. Here is today's Image of the Day... Many of you will recognize that image from the opening scene of The Honeymooners. Their last original episode aired on May, 9 1971. I miss it being on EVERY night. I used to stay up and watch it growing up, ...

Images of the Day 9-14-09 The Week in Sports
Today we have a series of pictures to make up for the weekend. A lot has happened in the sports world in the past week. The NFL season got underway, the U.S. Open was contested, and something amazing happened in The Bronx, and something important even happened in the basketball world. Here are just a few images from the past week, as well as a few videos to go along with them. My personal favorite moment was the historic thing that took place in The Bronx. (Disclaimer: I am a lifelong Yankee fan.) Derek Jeter surpassed the legendary Lou Gehrig as ...
Image of the Day 9-17-09 – Touching Moment at a Baseball Game
Just in case you haven't already seen this in the past day or two I wanted to share it. I am including the video clip along with the image because it is what happened before the hug that makes this today's Image of the Day. [caption id="attachment_42" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="A man shares a hug with his young daughter at Tuesday's Phillies game."][/caption]
Image of the Day – May 8, 2010 – The 1984 Olympics
On this day in 1984, just months before the Olympic Games were to begin in Los Angeles, California the Soviets announced they would be boycotting the games. So, I decided to share a memory from my past as today's Image of the Day. Along with the 1984 Olympics came their mascot, Sam The Eagle. Sam was EVERYWHERE! Luckily for me I got to go on vacation with my friends family that year. The vacation was in one of those campers attached on top of a pickup truck. The plan was to drive from New Jersey, down to Louisiana, then across to ...

Video of the Day

In honor of the film MacGruber opening in theaters today I decided to use a clip from SNL guest starring Betty White from a couple weeks ago.
Video of the Day – May 18, 2010 – Justin Timberlake’s other career
I don't really like Justin Timberlake's music...luckily if he weren't a hugely successful singer he could have another successful career in the spotlight...as a comedian. He is hilarious any time he is on Saturday Night Live. Here is one of his musical sketches. So, bring it on down to Plasticville!
